May 22, 2012 - Nearly two years after Kelora Systems LLC filed a patent infringement suit against several e-commerce giants, a federal judge decided that the patent wasn't infringed and that the defendants may recover their legal fees from the plaintiff.

Kelora sued Amazon.com Inc., Dell Inc., Office Depot Inc., Newegg Inc., Costco Wholesale Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., Target Corp., Zappos Inc., eBay Inc. and others in 2010, claiming infringement of a patent on "faceted" search (meaning the ability to narrow results according to price, size, color or other parameters).

Kelora has not indicated whether it will appeal the ruling.
