January 6, 2012 - St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc. filed patent infringement lawsuits against Samsung Electronics USA Inc., Motorola Mobility Inc. and LG Electronics Ltd. St. Clair claims that the three companies' smartphones and tablet PCs infringe six patents, most of which relate to computer power management.
In each lawsuit, St. Clair seeks treble damages for willful infringement, because it claims that the companies would have found the patents as prior art when they filed patent applications on similar technologies.
St. Clair also seeks an injunction on the infringing products, as well as attorneys' fees and other court costs.
