Lodsys Files Six More Lawsuits Against Adult Entertainment Companies and Others

May 15, 2012 - Lodsys LLC, the company known for its patent litigation against app developers for the iPhone, iPad and Android operating systems, filed six more lawsuits this month. Five of the defendants are adult entertainment companies, including Playboy Enterprises Inc.

Lodsys claims that the websites operated by the defendants infringe at least one claim of its patent, known as the '078 Patent and called "Methods and systems for gathering information from units of a commodity across a network."

The defendants in the most recent Lodsys lawsuits also include Bank of America Corp., Hoovers Inc., Network Solutions, Overstock.com Inc., Sleepy's, The Estee Lauder Companies Inc., HSN Inc., Nike Inc., The Men's Wearhouse Inc., Tivo Inc., Walgreen Co., Rosetta Stone Inc., Dell Inc., AVG Technologies USA Inc., Symantec Corp. and others.
