General Patent Corporation (GPC) seeks a motivated and accomplished Vice President of Business Development. This key individual will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with top management.

Key responsibilities include:

» Analyzing new business development opportunities

» Drafting and implementing business development plans and strategies

» Conducting market analysis and research on prospective clients

» Preparing and delivering presentations for associations, conferences, conventions and individuals

» Forging relationships and alliances with IP and general practice law firms

» Securing referrals of patent infringement cases from IP attorneys and law firms

» Soliciting patent damages expert witness assignment from IP attorneys and law firms

» Seeking IP due diligence and valuation consulting assignments from general practice law firms, investment banking & venture capital firms, hedge funds and private equity groups

» Serving as spokesperson and primary media contact for our companies

» Writing IP-related byline articles, newsletter and blogs

Job requirements:

» Graduate degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or Communications, JD preferred

» 5+ years experience in business development/marketing at a law firm or other professional services organization

» Proven record of success in identifying and capturing new business opportunities in the legal field.

» Ability to travel as needed.

» Familiarity with intellectual property matters, including patent licensing and litigation is a strong plus
