Apple sued over iPhone by Scottish firm

Apple has been hit with another lawsuit over its iPhone, despite having 200 patents on the iPhone Multi-touch interface and other iPhone technology. It just goes to show that you can never spend too much time researching prior art.

The two related companies that brought the suit, Picsel Technologies and Picsel Research, claim that Apple has infringed a key patent involving Picsel's on-screen browser software technology, which is allegedly used in Apple's iPhone and iPod products.

Picsel Technologies has now hired New York-based law firm Nixon Peabody to handle its case in the US courts. The firm specializes in Silicon Valley IP disputes.

Apple Possible Patent Infringement

200 patents?!! Unbelievable. I would be interested in finding out that if Apple is found guilty of patent infringement, would there be a recall of Apple iPhones? Or would Apple just have to quit using the patent?

Hmmmm, things to ponder.
